ON COMPTE À CENT MILLE. (Hip Hop version)
LES CHANSONS
UN JOUR - pretty much rocks as a rock song that says “ I can do it, all I have to do is believe” ARC-EN-CIEL - has us celebrating our beauty and uniqueness in a very cool and organic musical way. Lots of soul. LES JOURS DE LA SEMAINE - gives the student a very bluesy repetitive bent on the days of the week. Full of great vocal harmonies, and quick and easy for them to learn. ALLÉLUHIAH – Halleluhiah I love school, and all of the things in my class. Classroom objects, with a country-folk feel. COMMENT ÇA VA – Fun fun fun! Upbeat with attitude, common greeting expressions AIE AIE AIE – A reggae tune that heralds the trials and tribs of being sick and having to stay home. Very cool sound with lots of common expressions of being sick, as well as body parts ON COMPTE À CENT MILLE! – I have been told by Sylvia Duckworth (AIM) that her first year grade three students learned to count to 100 000 in three weeks time with this song - and had fun doing it! They sang this song at recess, in the hall, in the yard, and it took great measures to get the tune out of her head at bedtime. The number chart for this song is also available when you download the lyrics. JE NE SAIS PAS – offers alternative ways of contracting sentences. Has a very upbeat, hillbilly feel whilst driving a train. Speaks of pizza, spaghetti, chocolate cake, and of not knowing about much else. LES MOIS DE L'ANNÉE – A repetition of the months of the year at varying speeds. This was the most requested song in my classes. Why? Because the students got to stand up every time I said the month of their birthday, and as it got super fast, it got super silly, and as I did it in slow motion, it got even sillier. A window of opportunity for dramatics, and letting go at the end of a class. ‘U’ – A cooler drum pattern I have not known. Past participles done in a mozambique rhythm. “Who cares what the songs about?” Yet they learn in no time their participes passés that end in the sound ‘u’. The same version is also available on the Cd without the past participle given in the song (so that the students can come up with it themselves). À L'HEURE – This is a song about time, given in the context of a story. A silly story, of course. About me. Being late. LE SON‘i’ – This is another participes passés song. It has a very love story feel, very real, very dramatic, very familiar to their ear. Also available on the cd without the targeted past participle. LA BANANE – A sillier song I do not know. It’s about a banana that I really care not to share with him, or her, or her or her or him……..Very fun, very, very melodic and catchy. O CANADA – en français à la rock. Full-blown energy. Full-blown fun. Click on the song title for a free download of this song!

Sylvia Duckworth, (Crescent School,Toronto) The AIM Juli is very proud to say that she sold three songs to the AIM program for their first year add-on kit. Having started with the AIM methodology years ago, she had her sights on writing for Matt and Wendy one day and, a year ago, she wrote, recorded and sold three original songs that are now part of the programming. AIM also promotes Juli for shows, and is a distributer of ‘Un Jour’ Tralco Tralco Fun in Hamilton, also a distributer of “Un Jour’, has purchased the rights to using 6 of her songs to score their recent film “ Pen Pals “. Inspired by Juli’s musical sound, they decided to approach her about scoring their up and coming film, in order to give the film a more current and up-beat feel.
